SOLFI- Integrated Platform For Sustainable Last-Mile Urban Logistics Operations

A logistics-focused project, currently under development in collaboration with the University of Aveiro, funded by the Portugal 2020 Community Programme.

It involves partnerships with STCP, Rangel Logistics Solutions, Contra Relógio, the Porto Traders Association, and the Porto City Council.

 

Its goal is to facilitate parcel deliveries in urban centers by optimizing the entire distribution process—from order acceptance to final delivery.

By integrating passenger and freight flows, the project aims to ensure a more efficient use of available capacity in the public transportation network and to enhance the quality of life in large cities.

This approach contributes to reducing the number of fossil fuel-powered freight vehicles circulating within urban areas, thereby helping to improve urban living conditions, particularly by lowering pollution levels, noise, and traffic congestion.
